Credit Union of America has announced 12 recipients of the John Michener Student Scholarship. The scholarships, named after CUA’s founding father, are awarded annually. This year CUA increased the number from 10 to 12, and each scholarship is $2,000. Applicants must be a high school senior or currently working on their undergraduate degree, 24 years of age or younger, and a member of CUA. Recipients received their scholarships on May 4, 2023, at a reception for winners and their guests at CUA’s corporate headquarters. Since the program’s inception in 2011, CUA has awarded $177,000 to 145 students.

Megan Pankratz, Hutchinson, KS., studying at Hutchinson Community College and Kansas Medical Center, career goal - nurse.
Camila Gonzalez, Manhattan, KS., attending Kansas State University, career goal - public relations and digital marketing for a fashion brand.
Lindsey Dean, Salina, KS., graduating from Salina Virtual Innovation Academy, career goal - social work case manager, attending Southwest Baptist University.
Jaylee Straub, Salina, KS., studying at Kansas Wesleyan University, career goal - physician assistant.
Amy Edwards, St. Paul, MN., currently attending University of Minnesota, career goal - funeral director.
Kellee Banks, Wichita, KS., currently studying at Emporia State University, career goal - counseling psychologist.
Casey Loving, Wichita, KS., attending Missouri State University, career goal - journalist.
